Wycollar, made famous by the ruins of  Wycollar Hall and a link with Charlotte Bronte, is a wonderful place to start a walk. You can reach Wycollar from Colne – take the road to Laneshaw Bridge and turn right and then left at Winewall. Park in the Country Park car park outside the newly growing village of Wycollar. Walk out of the car park down into the village (about 500 metres) . Go through the village (past the Tea Rooms & Gift shop – a new addition) and over the wonderful pack horse bridge and right past Wycollar Hall. Walk along the road following the river – eventually you will reach a signpost with a number of options – up the hill is the Bronte Way and left the Pendle Way – though if you follow the Pendle way you will join the Bronte Way later. This path leads gently up the hill and eventually out onto the moors. Today when we walked over the moors the fattening lambs were quite lively and so was the wind. We were blown and rained back, luckily just in time for pie and peas at the Tea Rooms.
